Cookies and browser storage

The core guides do not need a tracking profile, an account or a saved contact draft.

What these technologies do

Cookies are small pieces of information that a website can ask your browser to store and send with later requests. Local storage and session storage are separate browser facilities that scripts can use to retain information. Similar technologies can serve essential functions or optional purposes such as analytics and advertising; their purpose matters as well as their name.

Behaviour of the core site

The HTML, stylesheet and script provided for these guides do not set cookies or write to localStorage or sessionStorage. There are no built-in advertising pixels, analytics libraries, third-party font requests or embedded social widgets. Navigation state and scroll-reveal effects are handled in page memory rather than saved as a visitor profile.

Hosting and separately managed controls

The web host, security infrastructure or a separately managed consent layer may have behaviour beyond the core page code described here. If a cookie-choice control is provided on the deployed site, use it to review or change the choices that it manages. Its presence alone should not be taken as evidence that the editorial pages use advertising or analytics.

Any optional tracking introduced to the deployed service should be described with its provider, purpose and retention information and, where required, withheld until valid consent is obtained. This page does not assign invented cookie names or durations to services that are not part of the core site.

Your browser and device

Browsers may cache images and other files to load pages more quickly. They may also offer autofill, restore a form after navigation or maintain a clipboard history. These are distinct from a site saving your draft in local storage. Check your browser and operating-system settings, especially on a shared device.

You can usually inspect or delete cookies and site data through browser privacy settings. Blocking site storage should not prevent reading the core guides or using the built-in composer, although browser security settings can restrict automatic copying or downloads. Deleting site data does not remove files you have downloaded or messages you have sent.

External sites

External resources are ordinary links rather than embedded content. If you follow one, that destination may use its own cookies and storage under its own policies. Review those policies separately.
